Fire

I am on vacation, resting, playing and enjoying some time in the beautiful “Smokey Mountains” but my heart is heavy and my prayers will not cease for my friends, who are many, who live in the BEAUTIFUL Colorado Springs SMOKE FILLED MOUNTAINS.

They are not on vacation; they are not playing; they are not resting.

This was the email I received from one of them today:

Our beautiful city is on fire. I can ‘t even tell you what I am feeling, just numb I think. It is surreal. Almost like I am watching a really bad movie. From highway 24 at the base of Pikes Peak to the Air Force Academy which is across the highway from our home is on fire. The bad news is that the weather is in the same pattern today. Some thunderstorms with no rain are predicted again today west and south of us which yesterday sent 60 mile an hour winds blowing northeast. The worst possible ” perfect storm”. Please pray for us and the city.  Many, many people ( some of my staff) and homes are gone and many more today. Our son and so many firefighters and public servants are heroes. Praise God so far to my knowledge no lives have been lost. I don’t know what else to say. I feel a little sick. this is not a surprise to God. I will not be on the call but could sure use some prayers.

Please Pray without ceasing with me.

Psalm 66:12
You let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance.
