When You Don’t Know What to Do!
I wrote a book last year, about Life Unstuck, while wrestling with Life STUCK! Very, very STUCK!
Much of the time, writing that book was an out of body experience. Much of the time I felt like I was sitting in the lap of Jesus in front on my computer, his hands underneath my hands-like when your grandmother is playing the piano with her hands under your hands pretending like you are the one playing the song.
Don’t get me wrong. I don’t dare to claim the words of my book to be the words of Jesus. I could never, would never, claim His omnipotent power and wisdom to begin to be captured by my limited eloquence of letter to line in neither book nor blog. My reverence for God’s written Word is just too huge! I love God’s Word with a deep, deep passion. I can not imagine my life without it. I don’t want to. The Bible–the greatest of all books–combining the archaeological, theological and historical foundation of all civilization is the mainstream of all religion and the backbone of our faith. One book created from 66 letters written by 44 writers over 16 centuries all pointing to The Cross and God’s redeeming love for us. Can you even imagine?
Sometimes I will read a line of the Bible over and over and marvel at the poetry, excellence and intrigue of the message and the beauty of how it is written.
I want to write like that for God. I want my readers to be changed by what I write. I want to be changed by what I write.
Then I remember–the same God who lifted the hand of Moses to write Genesis, lifted the hands of Luke to write Acts and lifted the hands of David to write Psalm 139 which led me to write my book–when I let Him, when I place my hands on top of His and let Him lead, lifts my hands as I write.
So, as I sat with Him in my prayer chair this morning and asked Him “Lord, what do I do when I don’t know what to do?”
He reminded me that He left those very clear instructions sometime around 60 AD when He lifted Paul’s hands to write Philippians 4:1-9.
I listened.
Maybe you need to know what to do today about something you don’t know what to do about–so here you go:
Philippians 4:1-9
1. Stand Firm.
2. Agree in The Lord.
3. Help somebody.
4. Rejoice! (Did you get that Pat?–lets’ try it again shall we?–REJOICE!)
5. Be GRACIOUS (The Lord is NEAR)
6. Don’t Worry–Pray.
7. PEACE will guard your heart and mind.
8. FINALLY–What is true? What is honorable? What is just?–Think about that!
9. Just Do it.
and the Peace of God will be with you.
Nuff said 🙂
By the way–if you haven’t read my book, I would be honored if you would. If you have, would you mind sharing the link with a friend?
Lot’s of people like me who struggle keep Life Unstuck--including me–like it.
Now–how about you?
Are YOU STUCK today trying to figure out what to do about something you don’t know what to do about?
I’d love to hear from you in the comments below!!
Pat
