Embracing Courage: Unlocking the Power Within

Hello, dear friends!

I’ve been thinking a lot about this topic. COURAGE. I have more than one situation in my life or those I love where having courage is the only hope. But where do we get it? How do we capture the amount we need to DO THE THING?! As I have prayed and looked to scripture for the answers–here is what I found. I pray it helps you in that place you need courage today!

Courage is a quality that resides within each and every one of us, waiting patiently to be awakened and embraced.

Courage isn’t the absence of fear, but rather the willingness, with God’s help, to face our fears head-on, daring to step outside our comfort zones and explore the vast possibilities that lie beyond.

So, grab a cup of tea, find a cozy spot, and let’s embark on a journey to discover the transformative power of courage.

  1. Embracing Vulnerability:

Courage often begins with vulnerability. To be courageous means to acknowledge our fears and insecurities, yet not allowing them to define us or hold us back. It’s about standing in the truth of who we are, flaws and all, and having the audacity to believe that we are worthy of love, acceptance, and success.

“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)

  1. Overcoming Self-Doubt:

One of the greatest battles we face on the path to courage is that of self-doubt. We question our abilities, compare ourselves to others, and allow fear of failure to consume our thoughts. However, true courage lies in acknowledging those doubts and choosing to move forward despite them.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)

  1. Stepping into the Unknown:

Courage often beckons us to step outside our comfort zones and venture into the unknown. It asks us to relinquish the familiar and embrace uncertainty with open arms. While the unknown can be intimidating, it is also where growth and transformation occur.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

  1. Learning from Failure:

Failure is an inevitable part of life, but it does not define us. Courageous individuals understand that failure is not a reflection of their worth but rather an opportunity for growth. They embrace failure as a teacher, extracting valuable lessons from each setback.

“For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again.” (Proverbs 24:16)

  1. Encouraging Others:

Courage is contagious. As we cultivate our own courage, we have the power to inspire and uplift those around us. Through acts of kindness, empathy, and encouragement, we create a ripple effect that spreads courage far and wide.

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

The bottom line: Courage is not reserved for the chosen few; it resides within each one of us, waiting to be awakened. It is the force that propels us forward, enabling us to overcome our fears, seize opportunities, and create a life filled with purpose and meaning. So, my dear friends, let’s embrace vulnerability, silence self-doubt, step into the unknown, learn from failure, and encourage others along the way. Together, let us unlock the power of courage and embrace a life that surpasses our wildest dreams. Remember, you are stronger than you know, and you have the courage to soar!

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)

Lord, thank you that you have not given us a spirit of fear but one of COURAGE! We can do hard things with your help. We can trust you to guide, protect, direct and lead us into the relationships, places, purposes you have set for our lives. Jesus, give me the strength to do what you are leading me to do today. Amen.
