Just Keep Walking

My hearts desire for my life is to live THE BEST LIFE I can–pressing into God for more revelation; a heartier holiness; deeper insight into His Word and to fulfill every single morsel of His plan for my life.

I long to live a life that reflects and honors my utter surrender to Jesus and draws others–my children, family, friends, those He allows me to do ministry with–to do the same.

I am very often waxing on here on the blog about how marvelous life can be and how GREAT and WONDEROUS God is, and that is always true. At the same time, life is not a bowl of cherries is it? Sometimes VERY BIG challenges confront us–Life and Death issues like sickness; poverty; war; divorce; abuse. These things are part of life on this earth while Satan has his way and we watch for Jesus to return.

Sometimes, the “devils” we battle are not so clear, not so specific, not so tangible. Sometimes we just wake up in the morning and step into black cement boots and a heavy dark emotional housecoat and we don’t have perfectly clear reasons why and we don’t have a visible enemy to slay with our SWORD. We just keep walking.

This morning, I printed off the verses of scripture I am memorizing, grabbed my i-tunes and headed out for a walk, a walk in heavy black cement boots and a dark emotional housecoat. I quoted my scripture. I prayed my prayers. I sang (kind-of) with my worship music. I thanked God for His faitfulness and HIS promises and remembered my blessings. I just did what I know to do. I did not “feel” it so much as just obeyed it and waited for the feelings to follow.

The scripture that came to my mind as I walked back to my home to move on into my day was this:

They that wait upon the Lord will renew their strength, the will walk and not grow weary, they will run and not faint. Is 40:31

The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy. Is 35:1-2

Walk on my friend, God is with you and has not forsaken you nor forgotten you. Ps 139.
