🌸 Faithful Over a Few: Finding Purpose in the Small Things
Have you ever felt like the big breakthrough you’ve been praying for just isn’t coming fast enough?
Maybe you’ve planted seeds—written the book, started the ministry, launched the project—and you’re watching the soil, wondering when you’ll finally see fruit.
I get it. I’ve been there, too.
There are seasons in our walk with God that feel like slow obedience. We keep showing up, keep serving, keep saying yes—even when it’s quiet. Even when no one sees.
And yet, it’s in those quiet, ordinary moments that God often does His deepest work.
🌿 Small Doesn’t Mean Insignificant

Jesus often spoke about small things.
A mustard seed. A sparrow. A cup of cold water.
In Matthew 25:21, He says,
“Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things.”
The truth is, we all love the “many things” part of that verse. But most of life—the training ground of faith—happens in the “few things.”
The ordinary moments.
The quiet service.
The daily disciplines that no one else applauds.
It’s there that steadfastness grows roots.
🌸 When You Feel Like Nothing’s Happening
A few years ago, I went through a season where my dreams felt stuck in neutral. I was praying for direction, writing ideas, waiting on opportunities, and feeling invisible.
One morning, I sat before the Lord with a frustrated heart and whispered,
“God, am I doing anything that matters?”
He led me to Galatians 6:9:
“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not give up.”
That phrase “in due season” reminded me that God’s timing is never random. Our small steps—our unseen obedience—are not wasted. They are the soil He works with.
🌷 The Beauty of Staying Rooted
Psalm 37:3–5 says,
“Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.”
I love that phrase—cultivate faithfulness.
It sounds like gardening.
It takes time, tending, and patience.
To “cultivate faithfulness” means to stay planted.
To keep showing up where you are, trusting that God is working even when you can’t see it.
If you’ve ever pulled up a plant too soon, you know what happens—it never develops the strength to bloom. In the same way, our roots of faith deepen in the waiting, not in the rushing.
🌸 Steadfast in the Middle
Maybe you’re in a “middle” season right now. You’ve said yes to God, but you haven’t yet seen the fruit.
This is your invitation to stay steadfast in the small.
Keep doing the good thing that no one thanks you for.
Keep writing the words that might not go viral but will reach the one who needs them.
Keep praying over that prodigal child, that vision, that ministry.
Because what feels small to you may be sacred to God.
Your obedience is the offering that builds legacy. And it’s often in the middle—the in-between—that God shapes the person He’s preparing for the promise.
đź’› When Faith Feels Like Repetition
Sometimes faith doesn’t look like fireworks. It looks like folding the laundry. Showing up for that same meeting. Recording another podcast. Writing another email. Loving that difficult person one more time.
But that’s the thing about steadfastness—it’s built on repetition.
It’s forged in the faithful yes.
I often remind my coaching clients: faithfulness is success.
You may not see the full picture yet, but heaven is keeping count of every quiet yes.
🌺 Your “Few Things” Matter
What are the “few things” God has placed in front of you right now?
Maybe it’s caring for your family.
Maybe it’s stewarding a small group of women.
Maybe it’s writing the next chapter of your story.
Whatever it is—stay faithful there.
Trust that the same God who multiplies loaves and fishes can multiply your faithfulness, too.
And when you feel weary or unseen, remember: small doesn’t mean insignificant.
It often means sacred.
✨ Pause + Pray
Lord, help me to see the holy work hidden in my ordinary days.
When I’m tempted to give up, remind me that You’re growing roots beneath the surface.
Teach me to be steadfast in the small things, trusting You for the harvest. Amen.
