Hi Pat! First, I am thankful for your serving heart! You are a blessing to us. I am a native Floridian who is all too familiar with tropical storm/hurricane life. Oddly enough, I rest quite a bit during the hours (or days!) of a power outage – only bc you’re kind of forced to lol I definitely have trouble “resting” – as in putting my feet up to relax and calming my mind. However, I would say that I am rejuvenated, or recharged rather, when I am alone with the Lord in worship. When I turn up the praise music and sing my heart out driving or in the shower. One would say driving isn’t exactly a relaxing thing in rush hour traffic, but I’ve learned to channel the long ride into a worship experience. I have my playlists on Spotify and my OnePlace app! I find my most relaxing -best rest- is found when I am fully submerged in His presence, no matter where I am. Oh, sleeping well at night is a huge part of resting for me. I’m good for no one if I don’t sleep!
