Think Unstuck
How is that Unstuck journal coming along? Like myself, did you accept last week’s challenge to jot down the “stuck” place in your life? Did you take some time for YOU to brainstorm that one, elusive something that you need to get unstuck? For me, it turns out that I have quite a bit of unstuck muck!
So what now?
You need IT. You want IT. But how do you get IT – Unstuck?
This weekend I welcomed a small army for a pot roast dinner – a favored meal in our large, extended family. Setting aside the fact that I’m NOT a great chef and the idea of cooking for a large group causes me a near-panic, I found myself in a state of frenzied Martha Stewarting!
“Can I get you another drink?” “Would you like some more crackers?” “Is the volume ok on the TV?” I would no sooner sit down to chat when I found myself hopping off the couch to check on the mashed potatoes or grabbing towels for the parade of wet children running through the house (soaking wet from running around in the rain!).
I felt alternately proud of my hostess-with-mostess abilities and exhausted by the constant whirl of accommodating my guests. Why exactly did I choose to host a dinner??!!@% LOL
In reviewing all the pitfalls and perks of my weekend of entertaining, I’ve stumbled upon this catchy scripture:
You know when I sit and when I rise up; you perceive my thoughts from afar. Psalm 139:2
Truly, it makes me want to giggle out loud to examine my THOUGHTS this weekend.
“These kids are SO loud.” “If so-and-so complains one more time, I think I’ll scream.” “I burned the croissants again! If I turn them over, maybe no one will notice.”
My internal eye rolling and heavy sighing were off the charts! High dungeon indeed!
While the entire day was a success (I think), today I’m forced to examine my THOUGHTS of yesterday. I spent so much time worrying away the details and allowing myself to succumb to my insecurities, that I didn’t allow my heart to open to the sweetness of being surrounded by my family and our dear friend!
God KNOWS our hearts and He SEES our souls. He LOVES our flaws and FORGIVES our sins. He ACCEPTS our choices and UNDERSTANDS our insecurities. Awesome!!
In the brilliant light of a God-given new day, I get IT! Unstuck! Yes! I understand the power in releasing my turmoil, anxiety and insecurities to God. I SEE MYSELF AS GOD SEES ME! A brilliant cook (this one might be pushing itJ); fabulous hostess; Loving Mom, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Friend.
So, I’m a proud new member of the Unstuck Woman Club! Are you? If YES, let’s Facebook about Psalm 139:2 and talk about where YOU are stuck in your thoughts.
If you’re not a member, just drop your THOUGHTS in the comments below and we’ll send you an invitation to our private, Unstuck Woman Club Facebook page!
And finally, share, share, share!! We would be honored to welcome new friends from around the country (and the globe) and the easiest way to do that is by sharing on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, & Instagram!
Thanks!

YES, I HAVE JUST JOINED THE UNSTUCK WOMAN CLUB! I’M EXCITED TO BEGIN MY JOURNAL…….AND CAN’T WAIT TO GET MY HANDS ON PAT’S NEWEST BOOK!
AS I CONSIDER –
You know when I sit and when I rise up; you perceive my thoughts from afar. Psalm 139:2
OF LATE I AM SITTING MORE THAN USUAL. A STRESS FRACTURE OF THE METATARSAL OF MY RIGHT FOOT HAS ME GROUNDED. YOU WOULD THINK THAT WITH ALL THE EXTRA TIME THE LORD HAS GIVEN ME I WOULD BE DEVOURING THE SCRIPTURES I LOVE MOST AND WORK ON SOME WRITING EXCERCISES . THAT’S WHERE MY MESSY MIND CLOUDS MY MIND AS I MAKE A RUNNING LIST OF WHAT I AM NOT DOING…ETC.
“TURN AROUND” I SAY TO MYSELF
I HAVE FOUND THAT REHEARSING IN MY HEART AND SPEAKING ALOUD GOD’S LOVE FOR ME – WHAT HE SEES….HOW HE BLESSES ME THAT I MIGHT BE A BLESSING..AND I CAN FEEL MY FACE SMILING…….THE NUMBER ON THE CALENDAR DOEN’T DEFINE ME . I CAN THINK UNSTUCK!
My marriage and my ministery. Two main places that I would like to be unstuck in! Any advice or verses for these would be helpful!
