On the Sixth, Seventh and Eight Days of Christmas…
My TRUE LOVE gave to me…Celebration!
I love to decorate my house for ANY Holiday or special occasion. My kids used to say that I “up-chucked” (insert obnoxious kid word here) Christmas all over our house. Maybe I do tends towards a TAD overkill. I have tried to tone it down a bit over the years I just enjoy doing it so much. I truly celebrate Jesus as I play Christmas praise music all day while I work, often stopping to do a little Jesus dance that no one sees but HIM!
THIS YEAR we are in a new and much smaller cottage so my creative spots are fewer but I have a whole new color scheme which has been quite fun.
I absolutely love to share my home with family and friends during this season. I love to serve them and bless them with special treats and yummy food smells.
Since you are my friends and I can’t have you all over for tea and cookies, I thought I would bring you in through the front door for a “heart” visit! So welcome to our little home.
This years colors are neutrals and Tiffany Blue with a good bit of silver sparkle thrown in –Can I just say YUM! The silver trees above catch the afternoon light from a nearby window and make my entire living room look like a disco ball of sparkling light. It was a very unplanned-surprise treat!!
I completely changed my tree decorations this year using black and white pictures from Christmas past.I only made it through printing off about 3 years worth. By the time I was done with just that amount I was a puddle of memories and “where has it all gone” which resulted in my “One the Third Day Of Christmas” post.
The Nativity set above came from Proverbs 31 Ministries and directly from The Holy Land. It fits this spot perfectly. I adore it! Us girls know–it’s not just a nice saying–Jesus truly is, the reason for the season.
I hope you have enjoyed your visit! Tell me–does decorating for Christmas make you want to hide in a huge gift bag or is it a favorite holiday tradition?
Since Tea and Cookies just aren’t PRACTICAL 🙂 Don’t forget my Christmas Give-Away!!
Monday Hugs!!
Pat
Hey Pat, Thank you for inviting me in to your cottage.. Your decorating looks fabulous, tasteful and so inviting. I’ve often found warm tropical Christmas’s fascinating as I am so used to the snowy cold of the North East and Frazier furs as opposed to Palm trees.
I have always loved decorating! One of my hobbies is yard sales and I have picked up some beautiful, unique Christmas treasures over the years. I also keep my own seperate box of tree ornaments. My own special collection is mostly the items my 3 sons have made for me over the years or given to me. I take each one out of the box, unwrap it, remember the times when they were young and then place it on the tree in a special spot. Usually the “special spot” was up high so that tiny hands couldn’t get it, yet mommy could lift you up to gaze on those special ornaments.
I get out on the roof and string up lights.. although that part is beginning to dwindle and this year, I prayed that if God sees fit to bring a man into my life, that this man will enjoy stringing lights as I am ready to hang that up ( Pun intended).
But the more I think about it, I may change that pray a little…to maybe this wonderful Godly man who will string my lights on a palm tree? hmmm…
Thanks and Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Love,
Pam
Thank you Pam. I know this is a blessing and a privilege everyone doesn’t get to enjoy. Doing this is truly where I get to experience my love for decorating, albeit–a novice love. I shop for bargains and allow myself this treat when I can. This year it was expecially needed and enjoyed since we have so many family changes going on. Thank you for visiting and being blessed. Thats why I do it.
As for you Palm Tree Man…Hmmmm.. 🙂 You just never know!!
Much love–
Pat
You get it honestly! Lets be honest you just got tired of all the same things so you bought a new house so you could just start from scratch 🙂 (JK)
The pictures don’t do your home justice! Our family has had years of celebrating CHRIST together. It is the most wonderful time of the year! I Love you! Mom
Mom–I Do, I do!! As for the new house for a new tree–maybe not completely true, I loved the house I had as well, but I admit I was ready to bless someone else with the beautiful purple decorations I had used for 10 years 🙂 (ENJOY!!)
Thank you of loving my home and for the tradition of doing all we can each year to celebrate family and blessings and keep Jesus our focus.
I love you back!

Oh my goodness!!! I adore your decorations! Most especially your nativities….they are fabulous!!! I love to decorate too and my kids and husband make some of the same remarks….but if we didn’t do OUR thing they would miss it whether they admit it or not. Keep on with your joy because it’s contagious and is so worth it!!! Thank you for sharing your precious home with us and the joy of the season! You have made me smile and given me inspiration!!! Much love!!!
Favorite holiday tradition. Your home looks so cozy, warm and welcoming.
