You Are Woman – Roar Girl!

How do we live in Unstuck Perfection?

I AM Woman

Earlier this week I shared an embarrassing and epic fashion fail – walking around ALL day with the size tag still stuck to my jeans. Insert my rolling eyes here – how on earth could I have missed that detail in the mirror?!

What you may not realize is that, although I have a “public” forum to share my goofball antics, it’s not always a comfortable share. In fact, sometimes, it’s downright excruciating.

It’s not easy to feel FREE TO BE FLAWED.

I think of the times I’ve left the house feeling unbeautiful; the times I’ve “chickened out” of a challenge; the times when I’ve thought I’m unworthy of love; the times I’ve felt like I have nothing to offer. Oh the list of doubts and downers goes on and on.

I KNOW I am not alone.

If there’s any certainty in the world, it’s that we are ALL subject to the human experience of imperfection. We all struggle with things about ourselves, both inside and out, where we may be a little less confident than others, but do any of those “imperfections” truly detract from our immense value to our Creator? Or even to each other?

NO!

2 Corinthians 12:9 says that God’s power shows up best in our weakness. We are required to allow our weaknesses to be upped by God’s strengths! It is in our weaknesses and shortcomings that Christ is glorified and magnified in our lives.  I don’t know about you, but just the thought of God’s ever-present grace and enduring affection is a balm to my soul.

Let me share an abbreviated excerpt from Life Unstuck, Chapter 15, Unstuck Performance:

Three Facts about Unstuck Imperfection:

  1. We are all called to special assignments. Find yours!

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Eph. 2:10)

  1. God calls the unqualified. Move into your calling, JUST AS YOU ARE!

The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart (1 Sam. 16:7)

  1. There is no better time than right now! In the middle of your imperfection, embrace your place.

If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done. (Eccles. 11:4 TLB)

So girls – here’s our divine mantra:

We are: fierce; powerful; talented; beautiful; spirited; passionate; loved; embraced; cherished!

We are WOMAN – here us ROAR!
