Warning Hurricane Winds in God’s Word

We have a museum in Tampa called the Museum of Science and Industry. I have spent a bit of time there with each of my children over the years. They have a room at the museum that is a simulated Category 5 hurricane experience. We have had a few of those here in Florida. In this exhibit, you attempt to stand in the room as winds begin to blow and increase at a dramatic speed until you are forced to hold onto a wall or post to remain standing. Your hair is blowing straight back and your cheeks and face become distorted and freaky. The kids love it!

I was reminded of that room this morning as I read God’s Word.

There are times, times when we are truly seeking to hear from God, when we want nothing but His voice, His direction, His answers, there are times when He comes upon you like a raging hurricane wind and you must hold onto something in order to remain standing. Sometimes it is better to fall to the floor.

I got a Word like that this morning. It has a few things in it that I wanted to hear and a few things that I would rather have left hidden in my heart…but not really. I am ever so grateful to hear from God, the creator of the universe, the one who holds the starts in place and the earth in orbit is the very same God who will speak a personal word to you and to me through His Word!!

It never ceases to amaze me.

I want it, I long for it, I live for it!!

I encourage you today friends, as I encourage myself….let’s stay in the eye of the hurricane of God’s Word. Let’s dig and stir and press into it for all that He has for us, all that He wants to say.

Just a little hint about the “Word” I got today, if you want to do a little weather watching……

“There is a difference between straw and grain”, can you tell me what it is?

I am so excited to see the release of a new promo video that was created by a very talented team of God’s Hurricane Chasers from Charlotte, NC. I am going there to kick off a brand new conference God has put on my heart for women starting in 2010.

These are some awesome ladies and I have a feeling we are going to feel some wind on our faces in March—in the mountains!!

You can find it on the “Imagine Me…Set Free” website over on the right of this page. Click on the Conference tab and check it out!! I would be honored.

And somebody please talk to me here on this blog by leaving a comment for me….I am getting lonely!!
