The Secret to Surviving 35 Years of Marriage!

Today, Honey and I are celebrating 35 Years of Marriage. I have no idea how we made that happen since I am only 45–but that’s another blog 🙂

I wanted to share our secret.

This is what I got for our Anniversary.

Honey had our Bibles recovered.

God ALONE saved our marriage.

Both of us surrendered our lives to Christ in 1984. Me on June 9th and him in December of the same year. When we got these Bibles they looked really good but our life was a mess.

27 years later, our Bibles were a mess, but our lives are really good.

Good in a way that goes far beyond: “To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness or in health, to love and to cherish ’till death do us part. And hereto I pledge you my faithfulness”.

The top covers you see in the picture are the ones so worn they were falling off the Bibles. The Bible recover company sent through our local Lifeway store returned the old covers, something I had never even thought of asking for, in a protective clear bag.

I will treasure them forever. They are worth far more than diamonds.

The marriage we have discovered is priceless.

Now. we can keep using our Bibles for another 35 years 🙂

Tonight, we have the sweetest blessing of having dinner out with the FRUIT of our marriage, our 3 adult children and our 2 daughters-in-love.

I’m blessed.

Thank you Honey, for keeping me 🙂

And yes, that is a vase of 35 ROSES!!! On top of being God’s man, He’s no dummy 🙂
