The Ministry of Marriage
I almost titled this post the MISERY of Marriage, but far be it from me to make such an off color and possibly misunderstood comment (Insert smiley face here!)

Last Saturday, the first day of 2011, our family was gathered in the rocking chairs on our front porch, enjoying the perfect Florida Winter day (in our shorts!) and watching our little “G’s” play in the grass. All seemed well with the world when my middle son came bursting through…
Greetings Friends, I have missed saying hello here on the blog over the past few weeks, and in spite of my many friends who are shy about commenting here, I have heard your sweet requests for MORE Living Free chatter. Thank you so much for caring!! I LOVED having my Prayer…
I really didn’t mean to let the entire week go by without posting again but I was so captivated by our last conversation I couldn’t bear to over-ride it. I have to admit, my first thoughts were to take the post down and create a private forum for our Tuesday…
Uhmmmm…??? Honestly, sometimes, I’m just not so sure. I grew up spending summers so sticky and hot even the moss dripping from the huge old oak tress of Savannah, Ga-hung deadly still. All any of us could manage, was to hang on for the first cool morning breeze that would…
I am so thrilled to welcome my sweet friend Suzie Eller to the blog today! She is an author of eight books including her most recent, Come With Me: Discovering the Beauty of Following Where He Leads. When she’s not writing, you can find Suzie playing with her six grandbabies, all under…
But I will show you whom you should fear…… Luke 12:5 I was amazed to discover how many scriptures are in the Bible about fear. HUNDREDS in the NIV alone. As God has put this topic on my heart and mind over the past few weeks I have seen more…

Oh hilarious. Hilarious because it is so relate-able. I can’t even count the number of times I have ignored a phone call from my husband. He was actually in the room when I read this and when I laughed out loud (at the (insert naught word here) comment) He asked me to explain. He raised his eyebrows and said, “yikes! Yeah, that is something you should warn people about.”
By the way… I wanna see what is in that box!
Hi Megan,
Yes, God is always teaching us a “New Thing”. The naughty words comment was a hard one. I wasn’t sure that I should admit such a flesh moment. Truth be known, my guess is EVERY one who has served in either role has had a moment like that that spurred repentance. Especially if they have a FEVER :0)!
The box held a silver Tiffanies necklace.
I was forgiven and so was he!
Thanks for the visit girl.
There is nothing I hate more than being put on speaker without a warning! I'm not sure that didn't warrant @#%$*&/%! Okay, it probably didn't, but I appreciate your honesty. :o)
For all the momentary misery, marriage CAN be a ministry. After all, who knows and loves you better than the one with whom you share flesh?
For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. Genesis 2:24
Hugs darlin' friend,
Melinda
Thanks for the laughs!!
Hey, Pat! It’s so nice to meet you. Thank you for stopping by my blog. I LOVE your blog, and I love the first post I read. “The Ministry of Marriage” is dear to me. I could have been you in this story. I appreciate you sharing this (and the fact that you’ve been married for 32 years) because I am on my 2nd marriage and get discouraged a lot of the time. It really helps to hear stories from women who’ve been at it a lot longer than me and are still in love at the end of the day! I will be back to visit you often. I love the title of your blog and your introduction! Have a great day and thanks again for visiting me!
Love,
Angie xoxo
