Praying For Our Children
My favorite form of exercise used to be running, over the years it has transitioned to a kind of Walk/Run, now, I am pretty much walking—really fast!
For the past 25 years I have used my Run/Walk time as a time of praise and prayer. I have a very unattractive little black fanny pack that holds my phone, my water, my IPod and a little prayer notebook that I have used for 25 years called “Prayers that Avail Much”. The book was published before I was born. The one I have has hardly any pages still attached to the binder. That is my prayer for the books that I write. I ask God to so fill them with His Spirit, His anointing and His truth that those who read them wear the pages flat out of the binder!!
I have a little 3X5 card inside that notes special prayer request that I have agreed to pray for, then I kind of rotate around the little book using different prayers to prompt my own words for my personal situations and particular prayer needs.
Today, as many days, my focus was on my children. Not for any particular reason other than my love for them and my desire for them to capture and wallow in every smidgen of every blessing that God desires for their lives.
As I prayed today, God put 2 things on my heart. One was specifically for one of my children, the other was for you.
I believe God prompted me to share a part of the prayer that I prayed today from the book for my children and grandchildren with the hope that it might bless you, prompt you to pray for your own and build your faith!
Father, In the name of Jesus, I pray and confess your Word over my children and my grandchildren and surround them with my faith–faith in your Word that YOU watch over it to perform it! I confess and believe that my children are disciples of Christ taught of the Lord and obedient to your will. Great is the peace and undisturbed composure of my children, because YOU GOD, contend with that which contends with my children, and you give them safety and ease them. Father, YOU will perfect that which concerns me. I committ and cast the care of my children once and for all over on You Father. They are in your hands, and I am positively persuaded that you are able to guard that which I have committed to you. You Lord, are more than enough! I believe and confess Lord that you give your angels charge over them to accompany and defend them and persevere them in all of their ways. You are their refuge and their fortress. You are their glory and the lifter of their heads!! Amen!!
God is so good, I love His Word, His promises, His Peace!! Happy Monday friends!!
Thanks Mom!
Thanks for sharing this Pat. It is beautiful. A reminder that God is in control and He holds us all in the palm of His hand.
See you soon.
