Praying for Alabama

I am sitting all alone. In the stillness. And the silence.

Finally.

I am in the middle of a 3 day babysitting gig for my 3 youngest “G-Babies” allowing my 2nd born son and his beautiful wife a much deserved Anniversary break. It doesn’t take long for me to be reminded just how exhausting it is to wake up to morning kisses, fix juice and breakfast, dress for the day, get to the school bus, get back home, fix more juice cups and start the rest of the day that follows the first 3 hours….and continues for a full 13.

I have just settled the last one in for the night and plopped in front of my computer for some mindless media munchies. After leaning on one elbow and cleaning out my Twitter files, I switched my lean to the other arm and started running down my list if Blog Favorites.

After many, many days, maybe weeks, I stopped by the LPM Blog and found a several day old post written in honor of our sweet friends in Alabama.

It captured my heart.

I, unlike them, have been privileged to let my body, mind and spirit wander away from the daily confrontation of devastating loss of property, dreams and life that has left that area of our nation leveled in every way.

The LPM team had gone through their expansive blog “siestas” and created a list of  friends for our personal and passionate prayer.

It so affected me to read it over, I have copied it below.

Maybe you will do what I have done and speak each name out loud for purpose of caring and capturing just a few of those whose days and nights are heaping on far more exhaustion than I could ever begin to understand.

My love, support and prayers go out to each and every one.

  1. I had no idea that was posted. How precious. My family & I came out mildly inconvenienced. But friends and coworkers have suffered devastating losses. Prayers are so appreciated. It’s been beautiful to watch people come together and help. And most importantly to see God glorified and praised.

  2. Oh my — look at how many we are! An amazing group of Alabama girls who are in the midst of some tough days. Thank you Pat! For reminding me again to pray for each of them by name!

Hope to see your sweet face VERY SOON!

  3. UUUUGGGHHH!!
I get so mad at that. No matter how long I spell check or how many times I re-read. I just miss so many spelling errors.
Thanks for catching the spinach in my teeth and TELLING me!!
    xoxo
