Poor enough to admit it!

As you can see above, today is June 9, 2010. It is my 26th Spiritual Birthday.

26 years ago, at a church ladies retreat, I RAN to the alter when the invitation was offered to SURRENDER my life to Christ. The LONG STORY is here if you have a little extra Summer time for reading.

The short version is this:

I was bound by shame to the point of SHAMELESS surrender.

I was hopeless but drawn like a butterfly to a Buttercup, towards the promise of HOPE.

I was laying dead in a coffin of wickedness and sin, but was RESURRECTED the moment I heard about the redeeming love of God.

I was without a friend but suddenly surrounded by a whole NEW FAMILY.

I was wrapped in a shroud of darkness but deeply aware of the LIGHT filling the room.

I was deeply desperate but absolutely filled with FAITH.

I was a wretch but suddenly a PURE BRIDE.

I was lost but immediately FOUND.

Oswald Chambers says on this day in “My Utmost for His Highest” (which I have read for 26 years), June 9 “Then What’s Next To Do”

“Some people are POOR enough to be interested in their poverty, and some of us are SPIRITUALLY poor enough to show our interest. A pauper does not ask out of any reason other than complete hopelessness and the painful condition of poverty. (She) is NOT ashamed to BEG.”

That was me….

still is today….

only much, much RICHER in my poverty!!!!

How about you? Have you discovered how POOR you are without Christ?
