Poop Potential

Everyone loves the story of the attitude experiment between the 2 little boys.

One was put in a playroom filled with wonderful toys and gadgets. The little boy was very pleased for short while but before long was complaining about how slow one toy was or how crummy the other worked. He whined about the latest electronics that were NOT in the playroom. His attitude left much to be desired.

The other little boy was shown into a barn filled with nothing but straw and poop. He immediately started to squeal with delight. He whistled as he dug through the nasty materials. He was singing, excited, and downright overjoyed with his stinky environment.

When asked why he was so happy the little boy replied—“Listen, with all this straw and poop–there has got to be a PONY in here somewhere. 🙂

Such a sweet smelling lesson huh?

Even POOP has potential!

As we step into the week of Thanksgiving, I am smelling a few areas of stinky circumstances in my life, how about you?

We all know that an “Attitude of Gratitude” goes a long way.

Yesterday, I took some time to make a list of those things that look more like poop and straw around me then made a list of what I am grateful for (or at least what GOOD THINGS I CAN LOOK FOR) in each situation.

I claimed God’s Words of promise for the Poop in my life.

Maybe a few will help you.

Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Psalms 37:1-3

And this one–I actually have taped to my bathroom mirror-Psalms 103:1-5

Bless the Lord, Oh my soul–ALL my inmost being praise His Holy Name.

Praise the Lord–ALL OF MY SOUL–

Do not forget His benefits:

1) He forgives ALL of my sin.

2) He heals ALL of my diseases.

3) He redeems my life from the pit (or the POOP)

4) He blesses me with love and compassion.

5) He satisfies my desires with good things.

and the reason I have these on the bathroom mirror 🙂

6) He RENEWS MY YOUTH!!

The rest of that Psalm is worth spending some time in as well!

If that’s not enough—how about this:

Philippians 4:19    My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

God is good and deserves our praise ALL THE TIME! He knows what He is doing in our lives.

He knows what we need and what we don’t need.

He knows the right timing for everything.

He knows who we need to learn from and what lessons need to be learned.

Thanksgiving week is a good time to ALL DUMP STINKING THINKING! Even things that seem logical to be unhappy about.

When we consider how many are poor; how many are homeless; how many are in hospitals or on battle fields across the world, it truly causes our hearts to repent; to pray for those who are truly in need and to keep our eyes open for the Pony in the Poop!
