“REST”–Sounds Amazing but You Don’t Know My Life!

Women, especially mothers, are prone to neglecting self-care.

We are trained to keep going despite emotional exhaustion, and we often give at the expense of our own well-being. Running on empty leads to feelings of conflict, victimization, anger, exhaustion, and irritability.

However, Jesus invites us to experience “the unforced rhythms of grace”.

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion?

Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life.

I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it.

Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.

I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus says “Come to me…and you’ll recover your life…Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.”

On Permission to Pause, Episode 58, I share some secrets places of pause and rest, right in your own home.

I hope will listen in!

Jesus offers us a beautiful invitation to rest and pause, which is crucial for our spiritual, physical, and mental health.

I pray that this week, we choose to experience Jesus’ presence in the midst of our busy lives, leading to more of Him and less of ourselves.
