Summer Pause. Slider

Each Summer I gather a group of friends to join me for some online saucy conversation discussing various topics from body image to self indulgence to personal wants/possessions. We enjoy a (semi) private forum (I mean how private can Facebook be, really?) to ask questions, share experiences and dive in to some very HOT topics. A NO HOLDS BARRED chat among friends for the purpose of exploring exactly what it is to live a christian life in a seemingly un-christian world. The past 3 Summers have been a smash hit! So great, in fact, that I feel the need to revisit that fun, but with a twist.

It seems to make sense this year to have a Summer Chat on the book I am writing next. so, for 6 weeks from June 1 through mid July we are going to talk about the influence of a woman.

Whether you realize it or not, there’s a passion inside YOU, singeing every fiber of your heart and soul, burning it’s way right on out. Can you FEEL it? Can you SEE it in your mind’s eye? Do you DARE NOT talk about it? To give your heart’s desire an escape? I’d like to invite you to take my hand and let your inner flame ignite!!

For those of you that have read Life Unstuck, (if you have not–today is the day to purchase your copy!!) you may remember that in Chapter 15 I shared my tale of waking up in the Florida Governor’s mansion in Tallahassee, Florida as a guest of a friend, the governor’s daughter. It was quite a heady experience, one in which I struggled NOT to feel out of place and insecure. It reminded me of the movie The Princess Diaries, where the plain Mia Thermopolis (played by Anne Hathaway) is plucked out of bland obscurity by her grandmother, the elegant Queen of Genovia (played by Julie Andrews). I love the scene where Mia instructs the queen to “slide” into her ratty convertible and is immediately informed by her prim and proper grandmother, “Excuse me? Queens don’t slide.” No matter how hard Mia tried, she was just a “normal” girl, at her very best when she was just being herself. Likewise, when I found myself trying to act like I belonged in the Governor’ house, I came to the realization that I had to settle on just being me. After all, no one does ME better than ME.

God doesn’t care if you slide or don’t slide. He only knows that you are His PERFECT daughter, “as-is.”

In the 2016 version of HOT summer sizzle, we’re going to let it all hang out.

Let’s talk UNSTUCK influence!

Join the conversation NOW by looking for the Facebook Group A Summer Pause and asking to join!

Monday Blessings!
