How much does “FREE” cost?
on a lighter note…..:)
My last post was a bit intense but obviously connected with many people. I received one email in the middle of the night after I posted that made me fall to my knees for a sister in Christ.
I’m not sure what it is about my blog, I am ever trying to figure it out, but I get far more one to one emails and facebook responses to my post than I do public blog comments. No matter how hard I try to get you to say hi..HERE…most of you just don’t. I think some of the stuff I share is sometimes too personal for some of us to deal with publicly.
Hmmm….I think that is what Living Free is all about 🙂
“Eternal Truths for Everyday Women (and a few good men) Walking an Everyday Journey of Faith”.
So thank you.
Thank you to those who take the time–however you choose–to let me know God has spoken to you through my writng.
It really makes a difference.
You encourage me to keep writing, but even more, to keep pressing in to God for MORE FEEDOM!
Speaking of FREE….
I just want to remind you one last time about our FREEDOM WEEKEND GIVEAWAY. We only have this chance open for 3 more days. September 1 is the deadline. Now I have to tell you that my anonymous donor is leaning towards a few responders already but has a question I want to share with YOU!
We met with our HOST team on the ground in Grand Rapids last week. They are working hard and registration is flowing in, however, they had a sad report for me. One that has been constantly on my mind and in my heart.
We have made our Imagine Me…Set Free Weekend registration as low as possible:
$40.00 for 2 days which includes conference supplies, refreshments and lunch on Saturday
The truth is, many people are facing very tough financial times.
$40. is grocery money. $40. is gas money. $40. pays registration for a son’s football uniform or a daughter’s dance class.
The Host team has had MANY women admit to them that as much as they want to come, they just don’t have the money to spend on themselves.
So, our donor is wondering about using the money set aside for airfare, hotel, expenses for ONE WOMAN….to allow for 15-20 women who live in Grand Rapids to be at the FREEDOM WEEKEND.
Tell me, what do you think about this.
Has the economy hit you so hard that a $40. registration fee is out of the question for you?
Do you feel that if you really believed your life would be changed forever by this event (or any other) you would find a way to go? a way to get the $$?
Do you think paying for something makes it more valuable to you?
I would love to hear your thoughts…however you want to share 🙂
Happy Monday friends!
Here’s my 2 cents about why I usually respond on FB instead of your blog…….it’s because you post it on FB, I read it from there and then comment. I never make it to your actual blog page unless I go to it through my email feed. Maybe there’s a way to post a link to your blog on FB without the actual blog post being readable from your FB wall. Then the comments/responses would be made on your blog. Just a thought. 🙂
Oops! Well forget that theory. LOL! I just went to your wall, clicked on the link and it brought me straight to your blog page. I guess I am so used to reading something on a link, then clicking out of it and commenting on the respective FB wall. Just habit, I guess.
Deb you are so cute 🙂
I hope I didn’t sound like I don’t LOVE the feedback where-ever it comes from! I am sure there is a way to direct comments to the blog but really, in the big scheme of things…la-te-dah, right?
Love you girl!! Thank you for chatting–no matter where!!

Well, as much as I would love the chance to win the all-expense-paid trip, I’d rather see the weekend opened to more women in the Grand Rapids area. It sounds like there are many women in need there. While our budget is squeezed tighter than I’d like it to be, we are fortunate enough that I could set aside $40 for the conference if I lived within driving distance. It’s the airfare and hotel that make the cost prohibitive to me. I’ll be praying for you, the donor, and the host team as you make this decision.
Lisa, how sweet of you to respond. I so love my Christian Sisters!! We are all feeling the same way about this. God is good and so are you 🙂
