Freedom Weekend Afterglow

I arrived home after 1 am last night, rather this morning, from another amazing Freedom Weekend. This time we were deep in the snowy mountains of West Virginia.

Weather was NOT on our side :)….Imagine THAT!

After being spun and bounced through the tornado darkened skies of Florida on our flight out last Thursday afternoon, our US Airways (nope-NOT Southwest this time PTL) plane skidded to a slippery stop in freezing Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.

Cheryl and I unpacked our ski jackets and jumped into a rental car.

Using my trusty I-Pad, we followed the yellow brick road through the pouring snow that eventually led us to the Canaan Valley Resort and Conference Center. After turning the heater on high, we reluctantly-but hungrily-left our room in search of FOOD! We enjoyed a yummy pizza at a local family owned Sports Bar. God blessed us with a spot in front of a TV that was graciously surrendered to us just in time for the familiar intro music of AMERICAN IDOL!!

WhooHoo! God is so sweet with the silly, little things.

The next day brought our adorable team of weekend hostesses with the mostesses and off we went into 3 days of “ONLY GOD” moments and memories.

The Imagine Me…Set Free, weekend is by far the most exciting ministry adventure I have ever enjoyed and I have enjoyed a whole bunch of ministry adventures.

These are a few Praise Reports from the 100% Glowing weekend evaluations:

NO MORE SHAME!!

I am leaving this weekend ready to live for Christ, RIGHT WHERE I AM!!

I finally understand what comfort comes from TRUST and SURRENDER! I have been working on these for a long time!

God’s Love can heal a hardened heart!

God will meet me right where I am. He loves me and wants to do great things THROUGH me!

I am a valuable servant–my trails, my story is important, but only if I surrender it to further God’s work HERE AND NOW!

This weekend I discovered how to be FREE from my past and take hold of my passion for Christ.

When I open myself, others open to me.

I spent over 40 hours that were “ALL ABOUT ME”…WOW!!

What more could I ever ask for?? It is Ephesians 3:20 in real life!!

Now….I get to prepare my heart to DO IT AGAIN!!! Next weekend, here in Tampa–No Flying. Thank You Jesus.

This phrase has been the buzzword around our ministry all week as we prepared for our annual Valentines Event. This year it was called “Girls Night Out” (clever huh?) and our keynote speaker was the bundle of joy and energy, Elisa Morgan. If you haven’t heard her share, you need…

  • Pausing to Ponder

I have always loved the words in Luke 2:19 (NIV) that say: “Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart” The word “ponder” means to consider something deeply and thoroughly; to meditate; to weigh carefully; to consider thoughtfully.   Pondering takes being still instead of rushing….

  1. How awesome is the Lord! I loved reading your post about your weekend. Sounds like God was just everywhere this weekend. I know He sure showed up in Alabama where I spoke. Stones of unforgiveness were left at the Mercy Seat and godly legacies were the topic of the weekend. Don’t you just love being able to serve the body of Christ!!!!!!

  2. Thank you Leah. I had a quick look at Facebook last night and know your weekend was blessed as well. God is good to allow us such a fun part of His Kingdom work!!
