Dusty Old-New Resolutions
In their hearts, humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. Proverbs 16:9
Greetings friend.
So, here we are on the FINAL Monday in January and already poised to glance with wonder at February.
So, I’m wondering–
#1—Did you make any New Years Resolutions? Personal? Business? Faith?
#2—Have any of them already “bit the dust”?
For me, the answer is YES and YES. Let me be the first to tell you—some of my plans “bit the dust” very early in the month.
For example–I had planned to get back to my exercise routine. Not because it was January but because I have slipped badly away and health matters.
Instead–I caught the very bad bug that is sweeping the nation and have been virtually curled up trying to allow my body to heal for 2 weeks.
Then there is THIS little plan/dust/encounter—I laid out a wonderful (I thought 🙂 plan for my writing, blogging and e-letter communications with you for the coming year.
Can you hear the sound of DUST being bitten?
Barely halfway into the month, just last week in fact, Honey and I had a really big huge change of LIFE plans. We sold our house, it had only been listed for 2 weeks, I thought I might have months. But no, we will be closing in 2 weeks and moving to Georgia—after complete LIFETIMES in Florida.
Say Whaaat?
That said—due to all this change, I will NOT be keeping the REGULAR “Monday/Wednesday/Friday” BLOG post plan I laid out for you in January. I will still be sharing that stuf via my Monthly Newsletter, A REFRESHING PAUSE.
PLEASE SIGN UP TO RECEIVE THAT ON MY WEBSITE HOMEPAGE along with a lovely FREE Calendar and Weekly Bible Study Theme.
Instead, It looks like here on the blog I’ll be sharing a kind of “memoir” of a life in transition.
I’m calling it Memoir of a Move. Catchy huh?
I’m wondering, am I all alone in the New Year’s Resolutions “In The Dust” Club?
Monday blessings,
Pat
Wow Pat!
2 weeks to move and not feeling that great, I’ll be praying for you for a speedy recovery and added strength. That’s so awesome your house sold so quickly. Moving no fun, but how exciting it’s must be for you to be moving to a new home in Georgia. Hope you have people to help you with the packing. It’s amazing all the things we didn’t know we had until we have to pack. Totally understand you having to take some time off to get your new home together, but It’s always a blessing whenever your able to drop in by blog or a posting on fb.
As you already know, my mom made her new home in heaven on Christmas Eve after a fall where she broke her hip the week before. So for the month of January we’ve been cleaning out her 3 bedroom apt, and thank God yesterday we finished. That really caught us off guard!
No resolutions were made for the New year, but I haven’t been able to get back on track with my exercise for over a month. I need to do this just to keep my body from stiffening up due to old Arthur that pays a visit and never wants to leave. Lol, if you know what I mean.
So for Feb, I’m hoping to get back on track with my exercise and life that’s been thrown upside down. Grieving the loss of my mom has been hard. Some days better than others, but just getting her home cleaned out, brings a bit of closure.
Have a blessed wonderful day, and thanks for the golden nuggets you send our way.
Hugs to you, Joanne
