3 “Everything You Need” Blessings for Your Week!

(Notes from Permission to Pause Episode #30)

Second John is one of the shortest letters in the Bible and is clearly a very personal letter written with evident love and passion to a single, chosen woman. As you consider these verses, I encourage you to let yourself be that chosen woman.

Some studies believe her name to have been “Kyria” which is Greek and similar to the name Martha in Hebrew. Some translate her name to imply a letter to the church at large, but most believe it to be a very personal encouragement from the apostle John the Elder to the chosen woman.

Letā€™s take a look at 2 John verses one through three and consider 3 promises!

1Ā The elder,

To the lady chosen by God and to her children, whom I love in the truthā€”and not I only, but also all who know the truthā€” 2Ā because of the truth, which lives in us and will be with us forever:

3Ā Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Fatherā€™s Son, will be with us in truth and love..

Today I want us to pause over verse three which holds three promises, three affirmations, three critical life needs, three blessings from God the Father and from Jesus Christ the Fatherā€™s Son.

I encourage you to pause right where you are and breathe in deeply, as Godā€™s chosen woman, these three blessings.

Grace

Mercy

Peace

Take a moment to pause and ponder. Which of those things do you need most in your life right now, today?

Do you need GRACE? (unmerited divine assistance, approval, and favor)

Do you need MERCY? (compassionate, lenient treatment for an offense)

Do you need PEACE? (a state of tranquility or quiet, nothing missing, nothing broken)

Which of those three things do you need most right now, today? Maybe like me you want all those blessings!

Receive what you need from Jesus today friend. He, the true ELDER–wants you to have it. He wants you to hear and receive those three blessings as His chosen daughter. Fully and abundantly in love and truth.

PRAYER: Thank you, Jesus, that you want me today, as your chosen daughter to receive those three blessings, grace – unmerited divine assistance approval and favor, you want me to receive mercy – compassion lenient treatment for offenses, and you want me to receive peace – a state of tranquility or quiet nothing missing nothing broken. Thank you, Jesus, for blessing me today, for blessing us today with those three promises from Your Word. We receive it. Amen.

On the next Permission to Pause episode weā€™re going to look at the next set of three verses from second John and think about our family prayers and then closing the journey in episode 32 weā€™re going to pause over that precious balance between truth and love.

I hope you will join me!

PS–I have just returned from a podcasting conference held at the Opryland hotel in Nashville, hosted by my own podcasting network called Spark where I spent precious time with wonderful pod casters from all over the world. I learned so much and met many passionate pod casters with incredible messages to share.

On the drive back and forth from Atlanta to Nashville I binged on podcasts. That is often how I catch up on my podcast favorites and Iā€™ll bet you do that as well. If youā€™re interested in just a few of my recommendations Iā€™m happy to share three or four of them that might also bless you while you are visiting Permission to Pause
